First Year Experience Student Pledge
At St. Philip's College, we believe every new Tiger deserves the strongest possible start. The First Year Experience (FYE) is not just a program, it's part of the culture of SPC and the way we welcome, guide, and celebrate our new students. Through guidance from staff and Peer Mentors, workshops, campus events, and academic check-ins, FYE helps you learn how college works and how to succeed one step at a time.
As a member of the SPC Tiger FAMILIA, I understand that:
FYE is part of my first year at St. Philip's College.
Students start college and FYE at different times and in different ways.
The expectations below are designed to keep me on the path to success.
I am committed to completing my program of study and doing my best to complete as many First Year Experience Student Success Checklist items as possible, including:
Submitting my First Year Experience Student Pledge
Attending the one-day FYE Extended Orientation.
Attending
Tiger Nation Family Day.
Attending at least 1 academic workshops per semester.
Attending at least 1 SPC-sponsored event per semester.
Submitting a midterm grade sheet each semester.
Attending tutoring if my GPA falls below a 2.5
Celebrating Success
Students who complete at least 3 items on the checklist and submit their midterm grades each semester will be entered into a drawing for exciting prizes, including laptops, iPads, and scholarships.
Commitment Statement
By signing this pledge, I am saying yes to my education and to myself. I understand that I am part of the St. Philip's College Tiger FAMILIA and that the First Year Experience Team is here to support me as I work toward completing my college goals.
